Modern Glamour

Completed late last year, we collaborated closely with the clients of this beautiful new home. It was a pleasure to working with clients that had a clear vision and were receptive to new ideas.
As you approach the house set on acreage, you are aware that boundaries have been pushed and new ideas exploited. The feature sandstone wall punctuates the entry of glass and is a powerful element drawing you in! I'm reminded of Mies Van der Rohe's Barcelona Pavilion when I see this picture.

The main living room is flooded with light even though 2 walls are dressed in sheer full length curtains. The overwhelming height of the ceiling in this room is showcased by the curtains and at night there is a feeling of Hollywood glamour. The sandstone feature wall is repeated from the entry. Jardan sofa in Westbury fabric and fringed chair in Belgian linen both by PHI.

A conveniently located desk area where kids can do homework in sight of mum.

The open plan kitchen began with Calacutta marble and dark stained timber veneer. The island bench takes centre stage with full use of the marble, and vertical surfaces in the timber veneer.

Another view of the kitchen and you can see the use of more sheer curtains.

In the master bedroom we repeated the sandstone feature wall behind the bed. The monochromatic scheme provides the perfect complement to the stone. Diamond buttoned bedhead and tailored bedskirt in Belgian linen by PHI.

The ensuite is a magical space where the clients can truly escape. The limestone on floor, walls & benchtops was selected for its perfect colour. It was worth the effort of finding. The dark ceiling and sheer curtains add to the glamour.
The daughter's room is an exercise in excessive pink glamour. Wallpaper, bedhead, bedskirt and blind all from PHI

The sons room proves that red, white and blue are not the only colours that work for a boy. The wallpaper was the starting point here and we had fun working with it. The wallpaper and soft furnishings are from PHI.

We have been working hard to get everything set up for the Kirribilli Markets on Saturday. The kids even got in on the act and gave us a hand over the weekend. We're really looking forward to it even though it will be a very early start! We hope to see some familiar faces.
